It’s December, which means that it is finally socially acceptable to listen to Christmas music. But the worst thing about Christmas music is how bad it can be. Radio stations cycle the same songs over and over and there are really only so many times you can hear “Have a Holly Jolly Christmas” before you start thinking of Santa-cide. So allow us, dear listeners, to put your mind at ease. Check back all through December for round ups of the best Christmas music- from pop, to classic rock, to indie and everything in between. Kicking off our Christmas Music Bonanza is a list of my top picks, to give you a taste of what’s to come.
“Getting Ready for Christmas Day”—Paul Simon
“Backdoor Santa”—Clarence Carter
“Sleigh Ride”—The Late Greats
“The Christmas Song”—The Raveonettes
“Christmas in Hollis”—Run DMC
“White Christmas”—Bright Eyes
