Top 10 Favorite Tom Cruise Movies

So the next installment in the “Mission Impossible” series is coming out tomorrow, and I wanted to take this time to show my love of Tom Cruise. Which apparently puts me in the minority of Literally, Darling. I will say I don’t actually know Tom Cruise and if the entertainment news is to be believed I’m not sure we’d get along. However, I will say that I love Tom Cruise movies. He makes an amazing action hero, and I don’t know why but I love watching him run and beat the crap out of people. Disclaimer: I am not obsessed with Tom Cruise—I have not seen ALL of his movies, dude works a LOT—but these are some of my all-time favorites.

Top Gun –

I mean this is number one, my all time favorite Tom Cruise movie. It’s cheesy and very 80s and has only give songs, but for some reason I love the action.

A Few Good Men –

This one is second, but it’s also one of the best. Tom Cruise at his finest: snarky, arrogant, and right with just a dash of romance and justice thrown in.

Minority Report –

I’m honestly not sure what I love about this movie more the pre-crime unit or the technology that allows you to ride in a car without a driver?

PredPol-MinorityReportMission Impossible Series –

Guys I mean it’s the Impossible Mission Force. I don’t know maybe I’m just a sucker for an action movie. But when there is also something cool about knowing that Tom Cruise is doing as many (and more) stunts as possible, and probably shouldn’t be.

Mission-Impossible Jerry McGuire –

This is Tom Cruise as the romantic lead, and despite all the romances in all his movies I didn’t love this one as much. Also for me it was the most recently watched, but it seemed strange that there were no bombs.

The Firm –

Here Tom tries his hand at a thriller, and it was good. I still prefer the ones where he is running for his life, but maybe that’s just me.

Knight and Day –

This was one of the funniest roles I’d ever seen Tom Cruise in. He and Cameron Diaz were hysterical. This might have something to do with seeing it with no one else in the theater but my best friend, but it was still hilarious.

Far and Away –

It’s Tom Cruise with a (okayish) IRISH ACCENT. I mean potato famine or no, I like watching Tom and Nicole Kidman on screen together. She’s prissy and he’s brash and it’s the only romance of his I can watch.

Farandaway

Oblivion –

This is one of his more recent movies, and I was fascinated by how entertained I was with pretty much one character to watch for the entire movie. It was an interesting post-apocalyptic story and had some cool future tech (provided we don’t die out).

War of the Worlds –

I like science fiction, and having never seen the original movie I can see how a broadcast of this story would make people think the planet was actually being invaded. It’s a fun remake and those aliens are monsters.

Special Mention: Days of Thunder –

I actually have no excuse for this except occasionally I like movies about race cars.
