Anyone who says friendship bracelets are out of style is lying to you. This is a contemporary twist on an old classic, made from materials you probably already have on hand! These DIY bracelets are quick, easy, and the perfect summer accessory.

You’ll need waxed cording in the color of your choice, 8/0 seed beads, Scotch tape and scissors.
Cut two pieces of the cording, each about 25 inches long. Make sure there is plenty of cording to work with. Match the ends together.
Fold your two strands in half, creating a loop. Tie a knot a half-inch from the top of the loop and cut off the 4th strand. You should be left with three separate strands of equal length.
Use Scotch tape to hold the top of your bracelet in place. Braid your strands about an inch down.
Add your first bead to the outer left strand.
Push the bead up against the braid.
Fold the left strand over the middle, continuing the braid.
Place another bead on the right strand, push it up against the braid and fold it over the middle.
This is what your bracelet will look like after two beads have been added.
Continue to braid the strands, alternating the beads on the right and the left.
The beads will hold themselves in place easier the more you continue to braid.
Braid until your bracelet fits around your wrist, tie a knot and you are done! Try different styles using different-colored cord and beads.
